DESCRIPTION

1. 11/12/03 Function Added Data errors corrected in weather station rain gage.  Data collection tested.

2. 12/12/03 Function Added Weather Station operational; data collection started.

3. 01/13/04 Function Added Installation of automatic batch file data transfer completed.  Lost data for this date.

4. 01/14/04 Policy
Rain gage does not report moisture from snowfall until temperature rises above freezing.  Station is not equipped with a heated rain collection funnel.

5. 02/12/04 Data Added Automatic generation of Weather Data web pages, archived Weather Data Reports and Daily Tables completed.

6. 02/19/04 Data Added Summary data added to Weather Data web pages and Weather Data Reports

7. 02/23/04 Data Added
Automatic extraction of last 15 minutes of current barometric pressure data with automatic data transfer to NOAA at 30 minute intervals completed.

8. 02/26/04 Policy
Policy adopted to not use Daylight Savings Time for time stamping and reporting weather data.

9. 03/08/04 Program Update, Data Loss
Barometric pressure units were hPa, changed to kPa (mbar) via a weather station software modification.  Uploading of the new program caused a few minutes loss of barometric data just after midnight.

10. 04/23/04 Report Change
Wind Speed units in the Weather Data daily webpage column headers and archived tables were indicated as kph (kilometers per hour), when the data was actually m/s (meters per second).  The webpage column headers forward from this date are corrected.

11. 05/12/04 Data Loss
Data was lost from 3:11 a.m. to 9:02 a.m. due to a power interruption caused by construction workers on 5/11/04.  Solar powered battery back-up was depleted.

12. 05/17/04 Function Added
An alarm function was added to the host computer permitting monitoring of the datalogger battery voltage.  At the commencement of battery drain, a warning alarm sounds before system failure, permitting ample time to correct a problem.

13. 06/03/04 Program Update, Report Change
A new program was uploaded to the weather station datalogger adding a second set of wind measurements and RH average.  Atmospheric pressure was changed to reflect an additional significant digit, reported every minute.  Rewired air pressure sensor.  Air pressure data was lost from 11:07 through 13:54 during these transitions.

14. 06/09/04 Report Change
Added new columns to the right in the DailyData files to reflect the additional data collected by the datalogger's new program uploaded on 06/03/04.  Report change took effect with data dated 06/10/04.  The added data are Average Relative Humidity and the wind values derived with the Campbell Scientific algorithms: Resultant Mean Horizontal Wind Speed (Wind Speed U), Resultant Mean Wind Direction (Wind Dir DU), and Standard Deviation of Wind Direction (Wind Dir SDU).

15.
06/28/04 Program Update, Report Change, Data Loss
A new program was uploaded to the Weather Station datalogger adding the wind direction at the maximum wind speed during the one-minute data collection interval and standard deviations for relative humidity, atmospheric pressure and air temperature.  New columns were added to the right in the DailyData files to reflect the additional data collected by the datalogger's new program.  Reporting took effect with data dated 06/29/04.  Three minutes of data for 06/28/04 09:54 through 06/28/04 09:56 was lost because of time lost restarting the datalogger.

16.
06/29/04
Data Loss Data was lost from 3:11 a.m. to 9:02 a.m. during initial new file structure processing.

17.
07/26/04 Data Loss 07/25/04 23:59 through 07/26/04 08:30 due to a power interruption caused by construction workers on 07/25/04.  Solar powered battery back-up was depleted.

18.
12/28/04
Program Update, Report Change
A new program was uploaded to the Weather Station datalogger, changing the reporting of the atmospheric pressure.  Old data was corrected to sea level.  New data reports the atmospheric pressure at the site without correction.  Site elevation is 98.365 m  (322.637 ft), remotely determined within 1 cm by NOAA Forecast Systems Laboratory, Boulder, CO using satellite timing signal delays relayed to them by our GPS antenna installed for acquisition of PWV data (see below).

19.
01/04/05 Data Loss Data was lost from 01/04/05 10:38 through 01/05/05 10:20 due to a power interruption caused by construction workers.

20.
02/01/05
Function Added PWV data became available for the air column over CCNY.   See the PWV entry on the Weather Center Page for details and data.

21.
05/13/05
Data Loss The weekend daily data turnaround of 05/13/05 23:58 through 05/14/05 23:57 was lost at the time of the NOAA-CREST web server change over.

22.
05/16/05
Function Added TSI Sky Imager installed.  Sky image incorporated into web viewable format.  See TSI entry on the Weather Center page.

23.
08/04/05
Data Loss
Data was lost from 08/04/05 14:14 through 08/15/05 14:55 EST because of damage to the data aquisition device for the weather datalogger during an electrical storm on 08/04/05.

24.
08/05/05
Data Loss
GPS based data was not recorded from 08/05/05 19:15 through 09/01/05 09:15 GMT because of damage to the processing computer hardware during an electrical storm on 08/04/05, therefore, the derivation of PWV data could not be processed.  In addition, subsequent problems on restarting this computer failed to record data qautomatically for the periods 09/02/05 00:15 through 09/02/05 20:15, 09/05/05 01:15 through 09/05/05 20:15, 09/06/05 00:45 through 09/06/05 09:15, 09/07/05 through 09/07/05 10:15, 09/09/05 through 09/09/05 23:15, 09/10/05 through 09/10/05 10:15, 09/10/05 14:15 through 09/10/05 21:15, and 09/11/05 01:45 through 09/11/05 21:15 GMT

25.
08/15/05
Data Loss
The TSI-440 Total Sky Imager mirror not maintaining lock (sun tracking) position.  Processor failed 08/24/05.  Instrument sent back for repair.
